Guatemala

I set this up years ago, when I thought I'd write a little of my experience moving from the carefree university life into the difficulties of a jobless education system. As with many graduates over the last few years, work and good opportunities are hard or nearly impossible to come by, and so life can be pretty brutal for the 20 something educated generation.
It's amazing to see how life can change and how my relationship with God has been pushed and moulded over the last three years. To see mere hope become something bigger and more fulfilling than my little unemployed head could muster.
My real reason to start this writing business is to explain where God has taken us, my husband and I, and to talk about an epic country called Guatemala. For some reason God called Jamie, my husband, and myself to Guatemala with Habitat for Humanity this past July. I want to be able to record all of our experience and learning from this unique Central American country and share what our discoveries have been. I want to also uncover if Guatemala has change us and I'm excited to open that up and to reflect on what we've learned. If I don't pause and think then life can just keep going and we can be sucked into that never ending circle of wants, materialism and plans. We want life to be more spiritually enriched than superficial and I'm overwhelmed with the mercy and grace God has shown us in our three years of life together. Materialism seems to come and go in our house and yet I am most fulfilled and content when I'm broke and praising God.
